CHAR: Do you know Guy Bell?
USER: Yes, I do. I haven’t heard from him in years. Where is he now?
CHAR: He lives in Rome. Do you know he asked to borrow $10,000?
USER: Dollars or euros? There’s a big difference nowadays.
CHAR: He said dollars.
USER: He borrowed $5,000 from me a couple of years ago.
CHAR: Did he pay you back?
USER: Yes. It took him quite a while, but he paid me back three years later.
CHAR: Would you lend him money again?
USER: Maybe a couple of hundred. Never more though.
CHAR: Better off putting it in the stock market?
USER: Yes, although there probably are stocks riskier than lending to Guy.
CHAR: So if I lend him $10,000, how much interest should he pay?
USER: I wouldn’t lend him anything for any less than 25% interest.
CHAR: So over a year, I’d make another $2,500.
USER: That’s right. I wouldn’t lend it to him for any longer a term than that.
